Let’s take some pictures

Life is busy, I get it. But an hour of your time, walking through the woods, leaning in and laughing together and getting your photo taken is worthwhile. You won't regret it, I promise.

Timeless portraits

My approach

01.

Fill out the form

Once you’ve made up your mind, complete the form, and I will  get back to you as soon as possible.

02.

Meet up

So everyone feels comfortable and accustomed to each other, we’ll have a quick call to discuss things and plan everything out.

03.

Picture time

The big day! We’ll meet, and get to know each other. We will walk and take photos at a few spots that I have scouted out. You will feel more and more relaxed as we go on, because, after all, you are the star of this show.

04.

Delivering photos

In one or two weeks, you will receive edited pictures. You can also view them on a digital app to show your friends and family. There will be a way to download files for digital use, or I can help with the prints.

FAQ
This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?

Before the Session

✔ Get some rest & hydrate

It really does show in photos.

✔ Plan your outfit ahead of time

Try everything on a few days before so there’s no stress. Bring one backup option if you can.

✔ Keep it simple

Natural makeup, tidy hair, clean shoes. Less fuss = more confidence.

✔ Trust your photographer

They’ll guide you on posing, where to stand, and what to do with your hands—you don’t need to know any of that beforehand.

During the Session

✔ You don’t need to “pose” perfectly

The best photos come from movement: walking, turning, laughing, adjusting your jacket.

✔ It’s okay to feel awkward at first

Almost everyone does for the first 5–10 minutes. It passes quickly.

✔ Focus on how you feel, not how you look

Think calm, confident, joyful—your expression follows naturally.

✔ Breathe and slow down

Pausing between movements gives more natural images.

✔ Speak up

If something feels uncomfortable or you need a break, say so.

What Helps You Look Great in Photos

Slight angles instead of facing the camera straight-on

Soft hands (no clenched fists)

Weight on one leg, relaxed shoulders

Gentle movements rather than stiff poses

You don’t need to memorize this—your photographer will prompt you.

Mindset Tips (Most Important!)

You are not expected to know what you’re doing

Your job is simply to show up and be yourself

The photographer’s job is to make you look good

Awkward moments are normal—and often lead to the best shots

What should I wear?

What you wear can make a huge difference in how outdoor photos feel. Here are some tried-and-true guidelines that work for most outdoor photo sessions, whether it’s portraits, family, or lifestyle:

🎨 Colours & Patterns

Stick to neutrals and soft tones: creams, beige, camel, grey, soft blues, olive, rust, muted pastels

Avoid bold logos, text, or busy patterns – they pull attention away from you

Earth tones photograph beautifully outdoors, especially in parks, fields, or conservation areas

If wearing black or white, soften it with texture or layers

👕 Fit & Style

Choose clothes that fit well but feel comfortable (if you’re adjusting or tugging, it’ll show)

Flowy fabrics, knits, denim, linen, and layers add movement and texture

Avoid super-thin fabrics that wrinkle easily

🧥 Layers Are Your Friend

Cardigans, jackets, scarves, vests, or overshirts add visual interest

Layers also give you multiple looks during one session

👟 Shoes Matter

Wear shoes that match the setting (boots, clean sneakers, flats)

Avoid overly athletic or worn shoes unless that’s the vibe

Neutral footwear is safest

👨‍👩‍👧 If More Than One Person

Coordinate, don’t match

Pick a colour palette such a pastel or jewel tones or neutrals (2–4 colours) and mix textures

Vary tops and layers so everyone doesn’t look the same

🌤 Think About the Season

Fall/Winter: cozy knits, scarves, boots, structured coats

Spring/Summer: breathable fabrics, lighter colours, flowy dresses or relaxed layers

Dress slightly warmer than you think—you’ll look more relaxed

💄 Final Touches

Keep makeup natural and timeless

Avoid hair styles that blow wildly in wind (unless intentional)

Simple accessories > statement pieces

How many pictures will I receive?

📸 Mini Session (15–30 minutes)

5–10 edited photos to choose from

Short, focused, often one location

📸 Standard Session (45–60 minutes)

15–30 edited photos to choose from

Enough variety without feeling overwhelming

📸 Extended Session (90 minutes+)

30–50 edited photos to choose from

Multiple outfits or locations

These numbers assume carefully selected and professionally edited images, not every click from the camera.

Are you available outside of Mississauga?

Yes! I’m happy to photograph sessions outside Mississauga. Locations within a set distance are included, and travel beyond that may require a travel fee. Please reach out with your location and I’ll let you know what applies.

That being said, my happy spot is along Lake Ontario where we can find wonderful backgrounds and light.

Should we choose outdoor or studio for our pet?

Why Get Pet Portraits Done Outdoors?

Natural, relaxed, and true to their personality.

Outdoor sessions are perfect for pets who love to explore and feel most themselves outside. Natural light creates soft, flattering images, and familiar environments help pets stay relaxed and expressive.

Benefits of outdoor pet portraits:

Natural light for warm, authentic images

Space for movement and playful moments

Ideal for dogs who feel more comfortable outside

Seasonal backdrops that add personality and story

Great for action shots and candid expressions

Best for: energetic dogs, pets who dislike confined spaces, and owners who want lifestyle-style images.

Why Get Pet Portraits Done in Studio or Indoors?

Clean, timeless, and distraction-free.

Studio or indoor portraits focus entirely on your pet—their eyes, expressions, and unique details—without competing backgrounds.

Benefits of indoor pet portraits:

Calm, controlled environment

Consistent lighting for polished results

Perfect for senior or shy pets

No weather concerns

Clean backgrounds that suit wall art and gifts

Best for: puppies, senior pets, cats, nervous animals, or clients wanting classic, frame-ready images.

Which Option Is Right for You?

There’s no wrong choice—just the one that best suits your pet’s personality.

Some pets thrive outdoors, others feel safest inside. I guide you through the decision and tailor each session so your pet is comfortable, relaxed, and photographed at their best.

Many clients choose both—starting outdoors for playful images and finishing indoors for timeless portraits.
